Who will be the next tenants of this storied property?

Four bedrooms, four baths, lots of history: The Los Feliz home located at 2266 North Berendo is back on the market, two and a half years after it was purchased by actors Kate Mara (of House of Cards but also the famed Mara family; her sister is Rooney), and Jamie Bell, who will never not be known from his debut role in Billy Elliot, but was most recently seen in All of Us Strangers.
The Southern Colonial-style house, listed at just under five million, was built in 1922. It is just over 4,300 square feet and sits on nearly a quarter acre. Features include a white colonnaded porch, butler’s pantry, French doors, and wide windows that look onto a tidy yard and pool abutting a guesthouse.
Interiors are by Jillian Kliewer, who was chosen based on a “trusted recommendation,” according to the listing agent Patricia Ruben of Sotheby’s International Realty. Kliewer’s signature “earth tones and natural materials” are evident throughout. Mara and Bell’s personal stamp comes though in “most of the aesthetics,” shares Ruben, like the “color choices, powder room, and added built-ins.”
Clearly, however, not all of the house’s original Golden-Age Hollywood features are gone. The wood paneled bathroom, staircase and porch, to name a few, shout 1920, when Hollywood became a metonym for the film industry. Among the original details of note, according to Ruben, are “windows, moldings and many glass pocket doors.”
